Great book! Computer Science Principles makes for an excellent textbook for both AP and regular high school computer science classes. It takes complex concepts and explains them in an easily understood and creative way.
This is the best computer science book I have ever read. Before getting this book I was clueless in my AP computer science class. After reading this book I had a much better understanding of my computer science class. This book is perfect for AP Computer Science Principles. It got me super prepared for all of the AP projects and the final exam. It is filled with information but simple to understand. I would recommend this book to any high schooler taking AP Computer Science Principles or just anyone who wants to learn about computer science.
Hare breaks down the idea of coding in a way that if not easily understood, makes it understandable for even the most complicated reader. I am not a 'techie' or into coding as a hobby, but I am interested enough to want to have a knowledge of how things work. I feel that this book will be a great reference in the future for my purposes.

So, I got this book because there's a newer course called Computer Science Principles. This book isn't for that new AP exam, it's a general introduction to Computer Science. Seems pretty user friendly, but I was super disappointed when I realized it was not what I had wanted.
