I should have read the reviews. Misleading one description says 700 plus pages, another says 70. This book is the 70. Save your money. It's a summary far from a complete summary at that. For a deeper understanding check out Nsut Bty ny Asar Hotep.

Budge gives us a direct and literal translation of the "Book of Coming Forth By Day." I appreciate this edition in its organization with two layouts, one with and one without the corresponding hieroglyphics. Budge is a classic for a reason. It is helpful to read Ellis' translation side by side to get a more accesible spiritual viewpoint.

Ridiculous edition. The description for the KINDLE EDITION purports to be the full transcription by Budge, but there are only about 15 pages. Well, you get what you pay for in this case: ZILCH. But the description truly should be differentiated.

Not what it says. I was expecting a translated version of the book of the dead not the cliff notes. Very very disappointed

I don't care for this book. Was more like a reference book, than a good read. But it must hold a wealth of information.

This book is fascinating. It is what the ancient Egyptians believed and a lot of it we still believe in present day religion. They weren't too far from the truth. It doesn't tell you all of the beliefs but enough to make it interesting reading.

one can't fault budge for being a product of his time. compared to more modern writers he's a little stilted and stuffy, but i gather (not being an expert myself) that he's a very good translator and that this is a Very Important Work.but don't buy it for your kindle. there's no way to jump to the prayers you need, and it's simply too long to shuffle through every time. i'll probably never look at this again.khairetesuz

A reasonably well presented facsimile of the of the 1920 Edition.The half plate reproductions are just acceptable with a large lens.The original text is dated and of course highly questionable.It is a book that will join a number of other Budge originals and copies in my library.Reproduction books are often irritating in that they are often incomplete - My copies ofBudge; The Papyrus of Ani; A reproduction in facsimile, is missing all of the 37 essentialplates, Budge The Egyptian book of the Dead; The Papyrus of Ani Egyptian Text Transliterationand Translation missing once again the original 37 Plates, & Budge; Papyrus of Ani, The EgyptianBook of the Dead,is printed in some 'New Age' typo which seems intent on placing the contentsfirmly within a context of crystals & incense! None of these books sadly contain the printing historyof the publications, and this last one, once again has no title on the spine!

Excellent guidebook for those gentlemen going through the tough vicissitudes of divorce while working toward child custody. The prose in this book is down-to-earth, and thus the guidance Mr. Morefield gives is easy to follow, understand, and implement. It also gives great insight into what a gentleman will go through mentally to prepare for each step of the process and remain level headed and focused on what is best for the children. I highly recommend this guide to anyone experiencing this tough time in their life should they feel it is right for them and their children to pursue custody.

Straightforward, hard-hitting advice for dads in a custody battle for their children, or dads considering whether to fight for custody. I'm not an attorney, but am a big history buff and have read lots of court cases. Back when women had few or no career options, the courts leaned toward the mother when it came to matters child custody and child support, and this was good. But now in the 21st century, the situation has changed a lot from the "Leave it to Beaver" days when stay-at-home moms were the norm. But family law and the courts don't seem to have moved much, it at all. So a man who wants to win custody of his minor child/children in a divorce case is facing a system that was fine for our society in the 1950's but not necessarily so for today. In his "playbook" the author uses his difficult experience of his own prolonged custody battle and pulls no punches about the challenges single dads face when they engage the system. I like that he shows lots of respect for lawyers in his book as he refrains from characterizing them using the usual stereotypes. His advice for finding a good attorney and then working with them closely in a teamwork relationship is excellent. The author is clearly a devotee of military history and strategy, and gives lots of advice on strategy and tactics based on his knowledge of Sun-Tzu's "The Art of War" and other military strategists. So if you're a guy who has minor children and is getting a divorce or about to get involved in one, this book is for you. David Morefield "tells it like it is" and you'll find his advice and counsel indispensable as you undertake your heroic quest to do the right thing for your little children.

I loved David's book because it gives a clear factual way to deal with divorce when it involves children. He helps the reader to realize that standing firm for your child/children and letting them know how much you love them is the most important thing. Then he teaches you how to think smart in your decisions not vindictive or emotional. He also shares his experiences of learning to trust the Lord for every decision and for wisdom to make right decisions at a very emotional time. This book is beneficial for a father or mother facing the most difficult time in their lives. Children are a part of your heart.

I would highly recommend this book to any father that found themselves in this position of trying to get custody of their child. Mr. Morefield was very honest in his writings, stating his weaknesses and strengths and also giving credit to his family, friends and most importantly, God. The book was easy to read and understand and explained in details every scenario that he went thru. This book could truly be a help as it showed how this father experienced all the emotions he felt and all the different things he had to overcome but the main thing is that he never gave up and it paid off.

An amazing book! Lots of great strategies and info for anyone needing a new way to look at how to handle certain situations!!

Very good and sound advice with guidance for those who are going through the most emotional hardest battle of their lives. With the amount of parental alienation in this world most of which is against fathers and the courts believe these mothers so much that it hinders the fathers ability to keep fighting the battle. Fathers need encouragement not to give up and this book provides an amazing testimony that God is in control and through him mountains will be moved. To soldier on, be wise and diligent but to always led God lead you.

Wonderful advice and insight for a trying time in life! As a mother, we live in a mother favored area and i am watching my loved one go through this battle.

Purchased this book as compulsory reading for a Sergeants exam along with the Iannone book (Supervision of Police Personnel). This book is difficult to read. It almost seems as if the author went out of his way to make it difficult to read. I didn't enjoy the Iannone book, but this book in my opinion was just torturous to read. Also the diagrams (if you could call them that) were not helpful at all. I read three chapters because I had to, but I will never pick this book up again unless it is to put it in an envelope to ship to someone else. It got 2 stars because I don't HATE it, it's just a book, but it could use A LOT of work in improving the way it is written and the way the "diagrams" are presented.

Great book. Other reviewers complained that this text was too dense. However, I felt that the data and scientific based approach of the author was very refreshing. This book was required reading for a police promotional exam. The approach to evaluating police management methodologies based on measurable outcome was very refreshing as the trends are still towards community based policing with no demonstrated impact on the reduction of crime.

Excellently presented. Dr. Ratcliffe is the man. Brings everything into perspective.An absolute must read for all law enforcement professionals.

This book is required reading for Phila Police Lt test. This has got to be one of the worst police supervisor promotional books I have ever had to read. Very dry and author rambles on and on. Poor explanations and I have my doubts that the author was in the real world of law enforcement. I mean I know he's from England so the boring read is expected, but come on and at least try and make it interesting!
